This page provides an overview of human-centered computing and human-computer interaction research at the University of Colorado Boulder (CU). This research spans multiple departments and programs across campus, so we created this to provide an overview of faculty and programs here at CU.
Our Programs
CU offers several undergraduate and graduate programs in human-centered computing, across several departments:
- ATLAS Institute - offers a BS, MS, and PhD programs.
- Department of Computer Science - offers BS, BA, MS, ME, and PhD programs.
- Department of Information Science - offers BS and PhD programs.
- Institute for Cognitive Science - offers a graduate certificate and PhD program.
How to pick a program? Each of the programs differs in their focus, curriculum, and requirements. Fortunately, in most cases you can work with faculty across departments. For example, a Ph.D. student in Information Science can work with faculty from Computer Science. If you're considering applying, you may wish to contact the faculty you are interested in working with to help decide which programs to apply to.
